About Artistry

Artistry lets you effortlessly combine music from various artists. It allows Spotify users to generate custom playlists based on their favorite artists. With Artistry, you can create playlists featuring top tracks or entire discographies from multiple artists in just a few clicks.

The inspiration for Artistry came from my personal desire to explore different music and broaden my musical horizons. As a musician, I believe it's important to keep an open mind and expose ourselves to various genres and artists. It's fun discovering the richness of different musical styles and artists too! Spotify has many great features that I love for exploring music, like AI DJ, personalized recommendations, curated playlists, smart shuffle and so much more. However, I often find myself wanting to delve deeper into a new genre and explore many artists within it, but existing platforms like Spotify don't offer an easy way to add multiple artists to a single playlist. Artistry fills this gap by enabling users to effortlessly compile playlists from a variety of artists, whether they're preparing for a music festival, creating themed playlists, sharing their musical discoveries with friends, or simply for fun!

How It Works

You can choose the order that suits you best; these steps are provided for guidance.

Enter the names of one or more artists, separated by semicolons (Max is 20 artists). Make sure the artist names are exactly as they appear on Spotify, including any punctuation or spaces between the names (e.g. G.E.M.; Earth, Wind & Fire). Not case sensative.
Choose the number of tracks you want from each artist (1-10 or "all". Default is 10).
Give your playlist a name (default is "Artistry").
Give your playlist a description (default is artist names and creation date).
Set your playlist as private or public (default is private).
Click "Generate Playlist" and wait while we work our magic!

The time to generate your playlist can vary from a few seconds up to 30 seconds, depending on the number of artists and tracks you've selected.

Please note: This app is hosted on Vercel's free tier, which has a 60-second timeout limit. This means it can only add songs to a playlist within that timeframe. If the process exceeds this limit, you may receive a message:

"Error creating playlist: Unexpected token 'A', 'An error o'... is not valid JSON."
"Error occurred while creating playlist."

Additionally, please be aware that the Spotify Web API restricts playlists to around 11,000 tracks. Once that limit is reached, you may receive a message:

"Error: Server error. Please try again later."

However, despite encountering these errors, your playlist is often created. You can head over to Spotify and check :)

Please note as of July 2024: When creating a playlist through the API, it may appear as private, meaning it won't show up on your profile, but it's not truly private if someone has the link to the playlist. More information on this limitation.
